Who runs it
Kevin Scharp
Kevin founded Wildfire after two decades as a philosophy professor — he's Professor of Philosophy and Director of Research at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, works on the philosophy of AI, and wrote Replacing Truth (Oxford University Press). The approach comes from that background: careful, deliberate, built to last.
He also operates his own multi-agent fleet daily — the systems on the proof page. That's the qualification that matters: not a certification in someone else's platform, but years of living with production agents and learning what containment actually requires.
How the shop works
Lean by design
- Design
Every architecture is designed by Kevin. The judgment about what an agent should and shouldn't be allowed to do doesn't get delegated.
- Build
Installs are carried out by trained local installers — many from the University of Illinois's engineering pipeline, one of the strongest in the country, two miles from our door.
- Capacity
A fixed number of concurrent installs — currently four — so design attention never dilutes. If the calendar's full, you get the next start date, not a junior team.
- Standards
Every agent ships with the NORMS rulebook, the containment kit, and the cumulative playbook of every install in the network. Open-source foundations — auditable, not a black box.
